Richard D. Ray Sr.

April 30, 1951 - July 15, 2023

Richard D. Ray, Sr., 72, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Saturday evening, July 15, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.
Mr. Ray was born April 30, 1951, in Sedalia, MO, son of the late Raymond Ray and Dorothy Spellmeyer Ray. He had worked with Wells Blue Bunny Dairy for many years as well as serving as a fire fighter. He served our country honorably and was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He had a great love for wood-working, art painting, fishing, the outdoors, and nature. He was a Baptist by faith.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son; Jonathan Ray and a sister; Donna Ray Thompson.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 26 years, Bonni Greene Ray; one daughter, Stephanie Osborne and husband Zach; two sons, Richard Ray, Jr. and wife Malaysia and Christopher Ray and wife Joy; sister, Deborah Ray; brothers, Dennis Ray and David Ray; grandchildren, Lily Osborne, Isaac Osborne, Alysa Moyle, Amber Ray, Megan Ray, Nick Ray and Jacob Ray; several nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.
His family plans to hold a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at a later date to honor Mr. Richard D. Ray, Sr.
