My condolences to Lisa and the rest of the family. I know none of us will ever forget our time with John. I will always remember my cousin as this larger than life hero. Our family was lucky to have him live with us his senior year of high school. I was only 7 years old and this 6'2" giant that I had never met before arrived. He was a little scary at first, I mean he listened to heavy metal and had Iron Maiden Eddie posters in his room! But he could drive us to the pool and throw me what felt like 10 feet in the air over and over again. It turned out that my cousin was a kind, fun, and responsible young man. He was the coolest.
Taylor Anderson left a message on February 22, 2021:

Lisa, I am so very sorry . I just want you to know that my heart goes out for you. I want to tell you that this afternoon I did not know hardly anyone at the funeral home but you can bet they certainly loved you and John. I never heard one name without the other being said. He was an incredible lucky man as you were to be his wife. You were one together or apart. I am saying prayers for you and hope the pain and grief subsides with each new day . God gave you a special guy and God saw how special John was and gave him Angel wings to always and forever watch over and protect you as he always has! I love you.

My condolences for John’s family, Tamatha and I worked with John in Iraq, and we spent many quick mornings “inhaling” our breakfast before going to work. He always had a smile and a cup of coffee when I saw him. You will be missed John.

The first time I meet John, was about four years ago. John, and I worked at BDSC together on a 24 hour shift John, will work 12 hours and I would work the other 12 at the same location. Each time him and I would return from our vacation we were always working the same location. I guess everyone knew John, and I worked good together. Plus we had two things in common our love for a fine cigar and coffee. A few years ago after John, stopped smoking cigars, we would talk over a good cup of coffee. John would often talk about his love for his family, traveling the world on vacations, and his corvette. I will miss my friend. From the Sims family to Carey family, my condolences.

Wij rekenen jullie tot onze vrienden. Veel sterkte, Rob en Jouke Huisman
