Shelia Ann Bruhl Clegg, 70, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Monday afternoon, December 30, 2019 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm EST on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Rev. Frances Corbin, Rev. Emory Evans, and Rev. Billy Fortune officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service on Thursday at the funeral home in Phenix City.
Mrs. Clegg was born February 12, 1949 in Mobile, AL, daughter of the late Johnny Bruhl and Bonnie Jean Young Bruhl. In her younger years, she had worked as a beautician and a store manager for Marsha’s Dress Shop. Mrs. Clegg’s main focus was her love of her family; she was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother whom loved her family deeply. She enjoyed cooking, singing Gospel music, fellowship, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Faith Temple Assembly of God Church in Phenix City. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Michael Bruhl.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 41 years, William J. “Pete” Clegg, children, Chris Clegg and wife Brandi, Shannon Dueitt and wife Angie, Todd Dueitt and wife Jennifer, and Matt Clegg, three sisters, Fay Cooper and husband Irwin, Anita Gray, and Sylvia Gaffney, (6) grandchildren, Dru Bennett, Trey Jones, Taylor Clegg, Gracie Dueitt, and twins Danny Dueitt, and Joey Dueitt, several nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and a host of friends.
