Bette, I picked up the Claxton paper and saw Jimmy's Obit. I am so sorry; I share many fond memories of both of you many years ago.

Words can't express how much Jim meant to us. He was always the voice of reason and the calming constant in life's storms. He was a best friend, a gentle soul, the finest of human beings and a darn good boat captain and host. Pieces of our hearts go with him.

Ms Bette, Julie and Joe, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember Mr Jim as a kind man, and a household full of love and fun when I was a teenager growing up. I pray for the love, peace and comfort of the Holy Spirit to surround you this day and always. Much love. Susie❤️

While working at the Myrtle Beach AFB in South Carolina beginning in 1986, I came to know (and love) Jim/Jimmy McDaniel. He was working in Contracting and I in Engineering alongside his wife, Bette. I never thought of Jim without thinking of Bette and vice versa. The two of them made one. Jim was always the quiet one, who when he spoke, you knew he had something to say and you always listened. Over the years, we would lose track of each other but as was meant to be, we always seemed to find each other and once we reconnected, it was if no time had been between us. Jim was a very good man who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. My sincerest condolences to my friend Bette, Joe and Liliana, Julie and Jeff and their children.
