Stan and I were neighbors, he lived on 46th st while I lived on 45 th st. We both lived in the sane neighborhood all our lives until we moved away to college. Stan & I also attended the same schools and were the same age, we both graduated from Glenwood in 1975. Stan enjoyed reminding me that I was older than him ( by a few months). Stan and I both loved Auburn University, both of us graduated from Auburn. We were avid AU fans and I will miss his input and comments regarding Auburn. He moved away during his career and I did not hear from him for years until he retired and moved back home. I remember seeing him at the hospital where I worked as a nurse and it was great seeing him once again. He was a great friend, always wanting to know how everyone was doing. He would call at times to ask medical questions and called to tell me he was sick the day he was diagnosed. His cancer took him fast, it took a lifelong friend I will terribly miss. He dearly loved his wife, son, and his family, he talked about them so often . He loved everyone, and they loved him back. Not many people connect with others as well as Stan did. Rip my dear friend, already miss you.

So sorry to hear of Stan's passing. I totally agree with the sentiment in the obit that he never met a stranger! He could start-up conversation with anyone. Stan was the first person I met on day one of my coming back to McKesson in 1996. He was always an "open arms welcome." kind of guy. I loved his southern colloquialisms! Continued blessings from God on Stan, Ruthie, Spencer, Molly, Shepard and family and friends. Jerry
