Sylvia Talvin Baggett, 81, of Cusseta, GA passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.

Sylvia was born on March 7, 1937 in Dothan, AL to the late Edward and Ollie Bigbie. She was a member of White Rock Assembly of God in Phenix City, AL. Her caring and loving spirit will be missed greatly by all who knew her. Sylvia loved her church and faithfully served with an unselfish heart. As a mother and grandmother, she always cherished time spent with her family whom she loved and adored.

Other than her parents, Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Rev. Talmage Baggett and a son, Michael Baggett.

Survivors include her children, Anthony Baggett (Lisa Lee) of Cusseta, GA, Carl Baggett (Valerie) of Jacksonville, FL, Deborah Chalkley (Mark) of Fredericksburg, VA; sisters, Marie Atkins of Newport News, VA, Mary Lou Almasy of Flint, MI, Marlene Gibbons of Phenix City, AL, Rachel Payne of Pace, FL; brothers, Wayne Bigbie (Diane) of North Gloucester, VA, Tony Bigbie (Linda) of Columbus, GA; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.

I want to offer my condolences to the Baggett family and friends. It is a painful thing to lose a love one in death, regardless of how long they have lived. Our heavenly Father of tender mercies knows your pain. He never purposed his human family to have health issues, grow old, and die, but to live in perfect health and perfect life forever. It is still his purpose (Psalms 37:11, 29). He calls death an enemy and promised to remove sickness, old age, and death__ 1 Corinthians 15:26 вЂњThe last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing"; Isaiah 33:24 And no resident will say: "I am sick"; Isaiah 35:5,6; Job 33:24,25 вЂњLet his flesh become fresher than in youth; Let him return to the days of his youthful vigor.вЂќ Finally, He promised to undo the effect of death by bringing our love ones in the memorial tombs back to life__ Hosea 13:14 вЂњFrom the power of the Grave I will redeem them; From death I will recover them.вЂќ I hope these words give you all comfort.

My sincere condolences to the family at this time of loss. Even Jesus wept at the loss of a loved loved one. Please draw comfort from the scriptural promises at Acts 24:15 and Rev 21:3, 4 knowing that God cannot lie (Isaiah 46:10, 11).
