Tony Oliver Shepherd, 76, of Smiths Station, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, March 7, 2021.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am EST on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 Highway 431 North Phenix City, Alabama 36867, with Rev. Emory Evans officiating. Internment will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Shepherd was born in Phenix City, AL the son of John Elvan Shepherd, Sr. and Nellie Doris Allen Shepherd. After high school, Tony joined the United States Navy where he proudly served his country. Tony later began working for Uniroyal and retired after 30 years of service. He was a member of Faith Temple Assembly of God Church. Tony enjoyed fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed riding four wheelers especially with his nieces.
In addition to Tony’s parents, he is preceded in death by one sister Brenda Worthington.
Left to cherish his memory is one sister Janice Keesling and her husband Robert of Reno, NV; two brothers Larry Shepherd and John Elvan Shepherd, Jr. both of Smiths Station and many other family members.
