Vera “Joyce” Anderson Harrison, 77, of Phenix City, AL passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 14, 2018 at Piedmont Regional Hospital in Columbus, GA.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held 3:00 pm EDT Saturday at Vance Brooks Funeral Home (Vance Memorial Chapel) in Phenix City with Rev. David Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Joyce was born October 28, 1940 in Columbus, GA to the late Jeppie Anderson and Nancy Frances Senn Anderson. She loved children and worked as a teacher’s aide with Ladonia Elementary School in Phenix City. She enjoyed playing bingo, but her greatest passion was living her life through all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a Christian by faith. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Lamar Stephens, Jr., one sister, Juliette Clark, and a brother, Kenneth Anderson.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Hart and husband Rusty, and Amanda Morris, all of Phenix City, AL, one sister, JoAnne Smith and husband Lonnie of Columbus, GA, (7) grandchildren, Stephen Spivey, Cheyenne Hill, Joshua Morris, Sidney Morris, Christian Goff, Jennifer Crampes, and Chris Hart, (3) precious great grandchildren, Carleigh Spivey, Carissa Spivey, and Greyson Levi Goff, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.
