Victor Chandler, age 69, resident of Smith Station, Alabama, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2020 at his residence. Private graveside services are being held at Lakeview Memory Gardens.
Mr. Chandler, son of the late Robert David Chandler and Peggy Ann Hamilton Chandler, was born February 24, 1951 in Columbus, Georgia. He was a painter by trade, serving both residential and commercial businesses in the Columbus/Phenix City area. Mr. Chandler was Baptist by faith and everyone knew him as a happy man. He was an avid Alabama fan, and enjoyed spending time with his family in the outdoors, particularly at the beach. The family remembers him as a loving man who never met a stranger.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Amy Nicole Brittingham. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Sherry Chandler; daughter, Kelly Chandler; two sons, Matt Chandler and Corey Chandler; step-son, Britt Brittingham; sister, Dianne Chandler Niles and her husband Gary; brother, Morris Chandler and his wife Janet; eight grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to John B. Amos Cancer Center, 1831 5th Avenue, Columbus, Georgia 31904.
