Virginia R. Elvington, 96, of Phenix City, AL, died Saturday January 23, 2021 at Muscogee Manor Nursing Home in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday January 27, 2021 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA with Reverend Shannon Poole officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery.
Mrs. Elvington was born March 9, 1924 in Mullins, SC to the late Luther Denny Rogers and Marie Capel Rogers. She was a homemaker and attended St. Mark Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Develen Dupree Elvington, her parents, sisters, Margaret McKoy, Dorothy Butler, Hazel Floyd, Lucile Borland, Oletta Smith and brothers, Carlyle Rogers and Luther Rogers, Jr.
Survivors include her daughters, Annette Parker of Phenix City, Nancy Henderson (Thomas) of Phenix City, and Brenda Mora (Robert) of Ft. Mitchell, AL, sons, Dupree “Buzz” Elvington, Jr. (Lila) of North Charleston, SC, and Ronnie Elvington (Betsy) of Phenix City, brother, Clyde Rogers of Marion, SC, twelve grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
