Walter Edwin Ragan, 66, of Pine Mountain Valley, GA passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery on Friday, September 2, 2022 beginning at 12:30 PM with Rev. Rick Lipp officiating.

Walter was born on August 11, 1956 in Columbus, GA to Lonnie J. Ragan and Eleanor Ruth Cornwell Ragan. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Walter enjoyed gardening and detailed yardwork. He loved his family and found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren.

Walter is preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronald “Butch” Ragan, and sister Belita Foxworth.

Survivors include loving and devoted wife of 13 years Robin Ragan; daughter Heather Elaine Wright (Jason) and son Lonnie Jacob Ragan, both of Oglethorpe, GA; sisters Shelia Lutz of Cataula, GA and Wanda Hopkins of Seale, AL; brothers Ronnie Ragan (Cindy) of Cataula, GA; grandchildren Kirsten, Tristen, Madison, Max, Mason, Chris, Hayden, Hunter, Hadleigh, J.J., Colton, and Lucas; stepson Jack Steven Dixon (Haley) and stepdaughter Christin Leigh Hawkins (Josh), both of Pine Mountain Valley; and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been made through Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Columbus.
