Willis Earl Thomley, 75, of Phenix City, AL died at UAB in Birmingham, AL on Friday, May 14, 2021 after brief illness.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Skip Speed and Rev. Clay Duck officiating. The interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus, GA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM at the funeral home on Monday evening.
Mr. Thomley was born September 05, 1945 in Newton, AL son of the late Troy Otis Thomley and Oleta Sasser Thomley. He was a Christian by faith and was a member of The Church of Christ. Mr. Thomley was a US Army Veteran proudly serving our country from 1962-1965. He then went to work for Bellsouth/AT& T for 32.5 years as a Service Tech and then went to work for TSYS and retired after thirteen years. A favorite pastime was fishing with his family and friends. Willis greatest legacy is his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who was loved by many.
Survivors include his wife of over 34 years, Cindy Pitts Thomley, Phenix City, AL; four children, Tracy Leonard (Danny), Smiths Station, AL; Troy Thomley (Cecelia), Valerie Braswell (Rodney) all of Phenix City, AL and Alex Thomley (Mendy), Salem, AL; five siblings, Fay Culverhouse, Jimmie Beach (Norman) all of Phenix City, AL, Myrtice Bunton, Savannah, GA, Glenda Youngblood (Forrest), Seale, AL and Paul Thomley (Pat), Georgetown, GA; eleven grandchildren, Tiffany Baumgart, Wayne Harris, Wesley Fussell, Trent Fussell, Kaila Griffith, Katie Braswell, Kason Braswell, Madison Thomley and Chris Bowe; seven great-grandchildren, Savannah, Waylon, Harper H., Kohen, Wyatt, Harper F. and Landon; numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
